In December last year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 5.7 percent year on year to 210,241 units, following contractions in the previous three months, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In December, among the five big markets, France (7.4%) and the United Kingdom (7.1%) recorded the highest gains, while Spain (8.3%), Italy (4.0%) and Germany (1.7%) saw registrations decline, all year on year.
In 2019, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU totaled almost 2,546,830 units, up 2.5 percent on year-on-year basis. The increase affected all major markets. Germany (6.1%) posted the strongest growth, followed by France (4.3%), the UK (3.0%), Italy (1.9%) and Spain (0.3%).
