According to indexes issued by the European Steel Association (EUROFER), local scrap prices in the European Union (EU) in May this year decreased by around four to five percent compared to the previous month. This was the second heavy month-on-month fall witnessed so far in the current year after that recorded in February. In March and April, European domestic scrap prices had seen only slight variation on month-on-month basis.
