EU scrap indexes up one percent in Mar from Feb

According to indexes issued by the European Steel Association (EUROFER), local scrap prices in the European Union (EU) in March recorded a slight increase of around one percent as compared to February.
 
On year-on-year basis, in March this year EU scrap prices declined by around 10 percent, constituting the biggest year-on-year fall seen since October last year when the purchase prices paid by local steel mills across the EU collapsed. The data for March and the first quarter of the current year are presented in the following tables:
