In November this year, new passenger car registrations totaled 1,216,702 units in the European Union (EU), increasing 5.9 percent year on year, mostly driven by the fact that there was one extra working day this November, according to the latest figures issued by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In November, nearly all major EU markets performed well, especially Spain (+12.4%), France (+10.3%), Germany (+9.4%) and Italy (+6.8%), but the UK saw new car registrations fall by 11.2 percent, all year on year.
Meanwhile, in the January-November period of this year, new passenger car registrations in the EU increased to more than 14 million units, up 4.1 percent year on year. In this period, Italy (+8.7%), Spain (+7.8%) France (+5.3%) and Germany (+3%) saw their demand increase, while car demand in the United Kingdom fell by five percent, all on year-on-year basis.
