In October this year, new car registrations totaled 1,169,672 units in the European Union (EU), increasing 5.9 percent year on year, according to the latest figures issued by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In October nearly all major EU markets performed well, especially Spain (+13.7%), France (+13.7%) and Italy (+7.1%), but the UK saw new car registrations fall by 12.2%, all year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first ten months of this year new passenger car registrations in the EU increased to more than 12.8 million units, up 3.9 percent year on year. In this period, Italy (+8.9%), Spain (+7.3%) France (+4.8%) and Germany (+2.3%) saw their demand increase, while car demand in the United Kingdom fell by 4.6 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
