ESTAR’s Volga-Fest’s billet output increases by 34 percent in Jan-Sept

Frolovo Electric Steel Melting Plant (Volga-Fest), a Volgograd region-based subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding (ESTAR), in January-September this year increased its square billet output by 34 percent year on year to 202,800 mt. 

Meanwhile, in the third quarter of this year, Volga-Fest produced 69,600 mt of square billets, registering a 41 percent increase year on year.

Currently, Volga-Fest operates at its designed capacity, is fully provided with the necessary raw materials and has stable orders for its products. In 2009, the plant's output amounted to 220,900 mt, this year it is planning to produce 285,900 mt of billets.

Volga-Fest is specialized in the production and sale of continuous-cast steel billets of carbon steel grades for further re-rolling. The plant is equipped with an electric arc furnace with 50-mt capacity (EAF-50), a secondary steel treatment unit and with a continuous billet caster.
