Essar to invest in steel project in West Bengal

Indian steel producer Essar Steel has recently announced that it is planning to invest in a steel project in West Bengal. It is reported that the amount of investment and the details regarding the project have not been worked out yet. Moreover, another Indian steel producer Tata Iron and Steel Corp (TISCO) also plans to build power generation plants and to invest in an automobile unit in West Bengal. However, no legal approval has been given for the projects yet.
