Essar to build steel plant in Egypt

Indian conglomerate Essar Global is considering the construction of a steel plant in Egypt which will entail an investment of $590 million.

The company expects to sign an agreement with the Egyptian government soon. However, the capacity of the plant has not been announced yet.

Essar also plans to set up three steel plants elsewhere in the Middle East.
