According to Taiwan Customs statistics, scrap imports into Taiwan declined nearly 28 percent over the previous month to total 147,000 mt in October. The primary source of scrap imports was the US with 68,000 mt, followed by China (19,186 mt), Australia (7,929 mt), Japan (7,248 mt), and Canada (7,188 mt).
In October, Taiwanese steel scrap exports surged higher by 175 percent month-on-month to 11,244 mt from 6,425 mt.
