On August 2, 2001, the European Commission (EC) imposed an antidumping duty on iron or steel ropes and cables imported from Thailand. Usha Siam Steel Industries Public Company Limited, a Thai producer subject to a dumping margin of 28.9 percent, has demanded that the EC initiate an interim review of the existing measure against iron or steel ropes and cables imported from Thailand, claiming that the circumstances on the basis of which measures were established have changed and that these changes are of a lasting nature. Having determined that sufficient evidence exists to justify the initiation of a partial interim review, the EC has decided to initiate a partial interim review for the imports of subject merchandise from Usha Siam Steel Industries Public Company Limited.
