EAFs to produce 15% of crude steel output in China’s Henan Province by 2025

The Department of Industry and Information Technology of China’s Henan Province has issued its Implementation Plan of Carbon Peak in the Industrial Field, mentioning it will guide the steel industry to meet the benchmark of energy efficiency, continuing to encourage enterprises to carry out energy-saving and carbon reduction transformation.

By 2025, Henan Province aims to ensure electric arc furnaces account for around 15 percent of the province’s total output of crude steel.
