Russian steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group's new electric arc furnace plant (‘iron ozone 32'), which specializes in the production of continuously cast round billets, has started production of square billets. A test batch of square billets of 150 x 150 mm specification has already been sent to consumers in the current month. The plant targets an annual output of 200,000 mt of square billets.

Production at the plant was launched on November 18, 2010 and reached full production capacity in 2011. The production plan for the current year is about 900,000 mt of continuously cast billets. The main consumers of its semi-finished products are Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works and Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant, which are both parts of ChTPZ Group.
