DOC extends AD review on certain flat products from Canada

Upon a petition filed by Canadian steelmaker Impact Steel, the US Department of Commerce (DOC), on September 22, 2004, initiated an antidumping administrative review on corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products imported from Canadian producers Dofasco, Impact Steel and Stelco. The review covered the period August 1, 2003, through July 31, 2004. On April 7, 2005, the DOC rescinded the administrative review of Impact Steel because Impact Steel withdrew its request in a timely manner and because no other party had requested an administrative review of Impact Steel. Stelco and Dofasco remain subject to the review, however. In light of the complexity of analyzing both companies' cost calculations and Dofasco's various US channels of distribution and sales terms, the DOC decided to extend the time limit for the preliminary results from May 3, 2005 to August 31, 2005.
