Italy-based plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply two new wire rod mills for two Russian companies, for Abinsk Electric Steel Works Ltd’s (AEMZ) facility at Abinsk in the Krasnodar region and for Novorossiysk Rolling Plant LLC’s (NPZ) Novorossiysk facility in the same region.
According to Danieli’s statement, AEMZ’s mill will have a capacity of 600,000 mt per year to produce 5.5-16 mm smooth rounds and 6-12 mm quenched and micro-alloyed rebar for construction purposes. On the other hand, the mill supplied to NPZ will produce 500,000 mt of 5.5-16 mm wire rod per year.
Both mills will be put into operation in 2020.
