Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply a new scrap-based, green steel mini-mill for Netherlands-based wire producer Van Merksteijn International.

According to Danieli, the new mill will produce around 900,000 mt of wire rod per year and it will be built in an area of about 50 hectares at the seaport of Eemshaven in the north of the Netherlands. The mini-mill, which is expected to start production by second half of 2020, features the most environment-friendly and energy saving solutions, to meet the stringent environmental standards of the Netherlands.
