Danieli to revamp Ural Steel’s vacuum degasser

Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will revamp the existing vacuum degasser of Russia-based leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer Metalloinvest's subsidiary Ural Steel, which is based in Novotroitsk, Russia. The startup for the revamped vacuum degasser is scheduled for the end of the current year.

With the revamping of the vacuum degasser, Ural Steel will increase the production capacity of the machine to 1.8 million mt per year of special steels, including rail and wheel grades, from 1.1 million mt per year. The revamping project will also enable operational flexibility and plant availability.
