Danieli to revamp three slab casters at Jamshedpur for Tata Steel

Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will revamp three slab casters of Indian steel producer Tata Steel, located at the company’s Jamshedpur complex in the Indian state of Jharkhand. The revamp is planned to be completed in the current year, according to the plant shutdown schedule.

According to Danieli’s statement, Tata Steel has been operating the three slab casters at the Jamshedpur complex, which were supplied by Danieli Davy Distington, a subsidiary of Danieli, 25 years ago, producing four million mt per year of slabs in a wide range of quality steel grades. Now, Tata Steel has contracted Danieli to validate the geometric reliability of these casters and to give assurance about their continued service, while making the necessary adjustments to improve product quality.
