Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that its subsidiary Danieli Corus will reline Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works’ (MMK) blast furnace (BF) No. 1 at its Magnitogorsk plant. The reline is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2018.
Danieli stated that the relined blast furnace No. 1, one of the eight furnaces at the Magnitogorsk plant, will have a nearly 10 percent increased working volume when compared to the existing design. The scope of the reline includes a new cooling and lining design by Danieli Corus which will have a capability of achieving campaign lengths in excess of 20 years regardless of iron making process circumstances.
