CVRD signs pellet contract with Qasco

Brazilian mining giant Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) signed a deal to supply iron ore pellets to Qatar Iron and Steel Company (Qasco). The agreement stipulates that CVRD will supply 2.66 million tons of pellets to Qasco over a six-year period. The value of the contract has not been disclosed yet. Being a fully-integrated steel mill, Qasco has a DRI facility, an electric-arc furnace, continuous caster and a rolling mill.
