CSC’s steel sales volume down by eight percent in January from December

Taiwan’s largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in January this year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 811,988 mt, down by eight percent compared to December, accounting for 68 percent of domestic sales.

In January, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 24.1 billion ($799.5 million), decreasing by 17.2 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the company’s operating loss totaled NTD 1.09 billion ($36.11 million), 7.7 percent lower than the loss recorded in December.
