Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in June this year its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 736,089 metric tons, down 5.6 percent compared to May, accounting for 64 percent of domestic sales. In the first six months of the current year, the company sold 4.83 million mt of carbon steel, accounting for 65 percent of domestic sales.
In June, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 25.87 billion ($863.3 million), down 11.4 percent month on month. In the first six months, the operating revenues of the company totaled NTD 173.15 billion ($5.77 billion). In June, the company registered earnings before tax of NTD 1.57 billion ($52.4 million), decreasing by 25.2 percent compared to May.
