CSC upgrades hot strip mill

Taiwanese mill China Steel Corporation (CSC) is intending to upgrade its no.1 hot strip mill during the first quarter of 2004. Due to such upgrading process, the mill is expected to lose a 600'000 mt portion of hot rolled steel sheet in coil production. The market sources report that CSC might provide slabs to Yieh Loong, another Taiwanese mill for hot rolled steel sheet in coil for tolling purposes during this period.
