Construction underway on silicomanganese project in Fengzhen, Inner Mongolia

China-based company Hebei Yanxin Building Materials Co. has recently started to invest RMB 4 billion ($626.96 million) in a silicomanganese production project in the city of Fengzhen in China's Inner Mongolia region, which will have a designed annual output capacity of 400,000 mt, as reported by local media.

The project will build a total of 10 30,000 kVA submerged arc furnaces in three phases. Construction has started on the four furnaces in the first phase, with two of these furnaces to be commissioned by the end of this year. The overall project is expected to be completed and commissioned in 2014. An output value of RMB 3.2 billion ($501.57 million) is expected to be achieved.
