In the first ten months of this year, Colombia exported 87,988 mt of ferronickel, down 17.5 percent, with a value of $279.01 million, increasing by 5.4 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In October this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 11,846 mt, rising by 39.2 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $44.2 million, up 83.8 percent, both compared to October 2016.
In the January-October period of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 165,198 mt, up 3.5 percent, with a value of $391.78 million, rising by 18.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In October, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 25,908 mt, increasing by 39.1 percent, and were worth $60.12 million, up 68.6 percent, both compared to the same month of 2016.
