Colombian iron and steel exports up 1.5 percent in Jan-Nov

In the first 11 months of last year, Colombia exported 118,907 mt of ferronickel, up 1.6 percent, with a value of $299.08 million, decreasing by 25.5 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In November last year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 12,290 mt, rising by 14.1 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $34.3 million, up 11.2 percent, both compared to November 2015.
 
In the January-November period of last year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 178,256 mt, up 1.5 percent, with a value of $371.4 million, declining by 23.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In November last year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 18,589 mt, increasing by 21 percent, and were worth $40.28 million, up 9.3 percent, both compared to the same month of 2015.
