Colombian iron and steel exports down 7.2 percent in January-July

In the first seven months of this year, Colombia exported 46,248 mt of ferronickel, down 38.3 percent, with a value of $145.2 million, decreasing by 17.3 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In July this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 2,030 mt, falling by 62.5 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $5.93 million, down 57.3 percent, both compared to July 2016.

In the January-July period of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 93,646 mt, down 7.2 percent, with a value of $216.46 million, rising by 3.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In July, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 8,483 mt, decreasing by 18.6 percent, and were worth $16.28 million, down 16.5 percent, both compared to the same month of 2016.
