In the January-April period of this year, Colombia exported 15,935 mt of ferronickel, down 61.3 percent, with a value of $50.47 million, decreasing by 46.2 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In April this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 1,693 mt, falling by 82.1 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $4.46 million, down 81.6 percent, both compared to April 2016.
In the first four months of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 44,420 mt, down 19.1 percent, with a value of $89.42 million, declining by 20 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In April, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 9,820 mt, decreasing by 33.2 percent, and were worth $17.56 million, down 41.2 percent, both compared to the same month of 2016.
