Colombian iron and steel export volume up 56.8 percent in January-July

In the first seven months of 2018, Colombia exported 80,686 mt of ferronickel, up 74.5 percent, with a value of $338.66 million, increasing by 133.2 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In July this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 12,966 mt, increasing by 538.8 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $60.44 million, up 919.4 percent, both compared to July 2017.

In the January-July period of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 146,794 mt, up 56.8 percent, with a value of $451.81 million, rising by 108.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In July, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 21,662 mt, increasing by 155.4 percent, and were worth $75.77 million, up 365.3 percent, both compared to the same month of 2017.
