In the January-February period this year, Colombia exported 17,725 mt of ferronickel, up 49.6 percent, with a value of $63.6 million, increasing by 48.5 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).
In the given period, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 29,338 mt, up 5.6 percent, with a value of $82.85 million, rising by 14.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In February, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 4,120 mt, falling by 31.9 percent, and were worth $7.12 million, down 49.6 percent, both compared to the same month of 2018.
