Coal production in Shanxi almost stable in January-April

In April this year, coal production in China's Shanxi Province amounted to 78.6446 million mt, down 5.0096 million mt or 5.99 percent month on month, while indicating a decrease of 2.2713 million mt or 2.81 percent year on year, constituting the first year-on-year decline in 14 years, as announced by Shanxi provincial authorities. In the January-April period this year, Shanxi produced 298.0547 million mt of coal, up just 0.14 percent year on year.

In April, the total sales volume of coal produced in Shanxi Province totaled 84.975 million mt, up 6.4086 million mt or 8.16 percent month on month, while rising by 9.288 million mt or 12.27 percent on year on year. In the January-April period of the current year, total sales of coal produced in Shanxi amounted to 300.4139 million mt, up 7.1902 million mt or 2.45 percent year on year.
