Civil construction activity in Brazil declines in February

Brazilian civil construction activity in February declined for the second consecutive month this year to 44.3 points, from 46.2 points in February 2018, in a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth, according to the local confederation of industries (CNI).

According to CNI, Brazilian civil construction activity in February slightly increased from 44 points in January 2019. Capacity utilization of the Brazilian civil construction sector in February was 54.5 percent, up from 54 percent in February 2018 but down from 55 percent in January 2019.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the industry fell to 42.9 points in February this year from 44.1 points in February 2018. On the other hand, the indicator slightly increased from 42.5 points in January 2019.
