At the end of March, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 304.28 points, up 6.79 points or 2.28 percent compared to the end of February this year. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index was at 251.11 points, up 1.19 points or 0.48 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 314.33 points, increasing by 7.85 points or 2.56 percent month on month, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
For the whole of March, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 302.06 points, down 4.42 points or 1.44 percent compared to the end of February this year. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index stood at 250.33 points, down 0.03 points or 0.01 percent month on month, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 311.84 points, decreasing by 3.71 points or 1.18 percent month on month.
