CISA: China’s crude steel output up 1.98 percent in Oct over Sept

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has stated that in October this year the total crude steel output in China amounted to 59.096 million mt, up 1.98 percent compared to September and increasing by six percent year on year. In October, the average aggregate daily crude steel production in China was 1.9063 million mt, indicating a decrease of 25,200 mt compared with September. In the first 10 months of this year, China’s total crude steel output amounted to 602.225 million mt, up 2.1 percent year on year.
 
In October, China’s finished steel output totaled 81.81 million mt, up 11.7 percent year on year, while the country produced 53.982 million mt of pig iron, up 5.1 percent year on year. In the first 10 months of this year, China’s finished steel and pig iron outputs reached 789.451 million mt and 557.56 million mt, up 6.3 percent and 2.9 percent respectively, year on year.
