Russian pipe producer Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) has announced that in February-June 2013 it will supply 200,000 mt of large diameter (LD) steel pipes for the construction of line C of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline project. The pipes will have diameter of 1,219 mm with wall thicknesses of 17.5 mm and 20.6 mm, of strength grade X80, and will be produced at the Vysota 239 pipe electric-welding workshop of Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant.

The Central Asia–China gas pipeline (known also as the Turkmenistan–China gas pipeline) is a natural gas pipeline extending from Central Asia to Xinjiang in the People's Republic of China. Construction of the 1,840km long line C started in December 2011 and is expected to be completed by 2014. The Uzbekistan section of line C is 529 km long and runs parallel to lines A and B. It will have a capacity of 25 billion cubic meters annually and will increase the total transmission capacity of the Central Asia-China pipeline to 55 billion cubic meters per year.
