ChTPZ to supply 200,000 mt of pipes for Bovanenkovo-Uhta pipeline stage two

Russian pipe producer Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) has announced that it will supply 200,000 mt of large diameter steel pipes for the construction of the second stage of the Bovanenkovo-Uhta gas pipeline project. The pipes will have diameter of 1,420 mm with wall thicknesses of 23.0 mm and 27.7 mm, of strength grade K65, and will be produced at the Vysota 239 pipe electric-welding workshop of Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant.
 
The Bovanenkovo-Uhta gas pipeline project, implemented by Russian gas monopoly Gazprom since 2008, is designed to supply the Nord Stream gas pipeline with natural gas. The pipeline length will be over 2,400 km. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
