Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has announced that its Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works (PNTZ) has designed and developed a new kind of 88.9 mm x 5.49 mm tubing with ChT-VT first-generation premium threaded joints.

The product is meant for steam injectors that have to handle extremely high temperatures (over 300 degrees centigrade). These pipes are expected to make the extraction of high-viscosity oil easier. Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant's experts' computer-aided strength calculations already proved that pipes with ChT-VT threaded joints can be used at Lukoil Komi's Yaregskoye deposit.

The plant's finishing center delivered a total of 522 mt of tubing with premium threaded joints to Lukoil Komi in 2013 and 2014. The threaded joint, which was developed at the plant, is gas-proof and retains all of its excellent performance properties under combined effects of contraction and protraction and external and internal pressure.
