One of the largest Russian pipe producers, ChTPZ group, has announced that on July 23 this year it commissioned its new pipe electric-welding workshop named Vysota 239 for the production of large diameter single-seam pipes at its subsidiary Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ).
The new 600,000 mt capacity pipe electric-welding workshop will produce large diameter pipes of 508 to 1,420 mm in diameter, with multi-layer double-side polymer coating, with wall thicknesses of up to 48 mm and of 18 m in length, for trunk oil and gas pipelines. The shop's pipes are to be certified to compliance with all major Russian and international standards.
The construction of the Ruble 21 billion (about $693 million) project began in 2008 and was rapidly completed thanks to the government guarantees provided to the ChTPZ group in late 2009 for a loan of Ruble 5 billion (about $ 165 million) from Gazprombank.
ChTPZ's new pipe electric-welding workshop Vysota 239 is planned to reach its designed capacity in 2011.
