Chongqing Steel’s production up in 2019, to stay firm in 2020

Chongqing-based Chinese steel producer Chongqing Iron and Steel Co. (Chongqing Steel) has issued its annual financial report for 2019, announcing an operating revenue of RMB 23.478 billion ($3.33 billion) for the given year, up 3.7 percent year on year, while posting a net profit of RMB 926 million ($131.4 million), down 48.22 percent year on year. 

In the given period, Chongqing Steel’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 6.1103 million mt, 6.7236 million mt and 6.4274 million mt, up 7.62 percent, 5.36 percent and 5.18 percent year on year, respectively, reaching their highest annual historical levels, while its finished steel sales reached 6.5074 million mt in the given year, up 7.62 percent year on year.

Chongqing Steel said that it aims to produce 6.12 million mt of pig iron, 6.8 million mt of crude steel and 6.38 million mt of finished steel in 2020.
