Chongqing Steel’s net profit amounts to RMB 762 million for H1

Chongqing-based Chinese steel producer Chongqing Iron and Steel Co. (Chongqing Steel) has announced that it registered an operating revenue of RMB 11.1 billion ($1.6 billion) for the first half of the year, up 145.32 percent year on year, while posted a net profit of RMB 762 million ($110.9 million) for the given period, compared to a net loss of RMB 998.5 million in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the company stated that its pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 2.78 million mt, 3.1 million mt and 2.96 million mt, up 79.10 percent, 89.96 percent and 91.56 percent year on year, respectively. As for the year of 2018, the company planned to produce 5.37 million mt of pig iron, 6.0 million mt of crude steel and 5.75 million mt of finished steel.
