Chongqing Steel’s finished steel output up 15 percent in Jan

On February 7, Chongqing-based Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel Co. (Chongqing Steel), a subsidiary of Chongqing Iron and Steel (Group) Co.,announced that in January this year it produced 481,739 mt of finished steel, up 15.05 percent year on year and rising by 9.46 percent compared to December last year.
 
In 2012, the overall finished steel output of Chongqing Steel had totaled 4,705,600 mt, down 11.8 percent year on year. In December alone, the company produced 440,100 mt of finished steel, increasing by 68.17 percent month on month and by 6.04 percent year on year.
