Chongqing Steel to supply plate to Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry

Chongqing-based Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel Group Co. has signed an agreement to supply 60,000 mt of shipbuilding steel plate to Fujian-based Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., according to local media sources. The steel plate in question will be used in the construction of pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) with a carrying capacity of 8,500 car equivalent units each.

At the beginning of the current year, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry received orders for eight PCTCs with the carrying capacity in question.
