In the January-August period this year, the 80 medium-size and large shipbuilding enterprises in China realized an aggregate gross industrial output value of RMB 259.0 billion ($39.8 billion), down 4.9 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).
In the given period, the shipbuilding enterprises in question achieved aggregate exports totaling RMB 98.0 billion ($15.1 billion) in value, down 11.0 percent year on year.
In the January-August period, the shipbuilding enterprises recorded an aggregate operating revenue of RMB 180 billion ($27.7 billion), down 6.0 percent, and a total gross profit of RMB 2.2 billion ($0.34 billion), decreasing by 20.6 percent, both year on year.
