Chinese shipbuilding firms’ gross profit down 32.2 percent in January-July

In the January-July period of the current year, the 80 medium-size and large shipbuilding enterprises in China realized an aggregate gross industrial output value of RMB 203.6 billion ($29.6 billion), down 9.8 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI). In the given period, the shipbuilding enterprises in question achieved aggregate exports totaling RMB 76.6 billion ($11.1 billion) in value, down 10.4 percent year on year.

In the January-July period this year, the shipbuilding enterprises recorded an aggregate operating revenue of RMB 138.3 billion ($20.1 billion), down 8.4 percent, and a total gross profit of RMB 1.22 billion ($0.18 billion), decreasing by 32.2 percent, both year on year.
