Chinese shipbuilding firms’ gross profit down 25.2 percent in Jan-Nov

In the January-November period of the current year, the 80 medium-size and large shipbuilding enterprises in China realized an aggregate gross industrial output value of RMB 334.0 billion ($48.1 billion), down 9.4 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).
In the given period, the shipbuilding enterprises in question achieved aggregate exports totaling RMB 123.2 billion ($17.8 billion) in value, down 8.7 percent year on year.
In the January-November period this year, the shipbuilding enterprises recorded an aggregate operating revenue of RMB 254.0 billion ($36.6 billion), down 6.6 percent, and a total gross profit of RMB 1.72 billion ($0.25 billion), decreasing by 25.2 percent, both year on year.
