China’s steel bar imports decrease by 6.7 percent in Q1

In the January-March period of the current year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate and steel pipes/hollow profiles amounted to 240,000 mt, 70,000 mt, 2.45 million mt and 80,000 mt, down 6.7 percent, 25.5 percent, 12.6 percent and 16.1 percent year on year, respectively, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in the January-March period this year China imported 2.897 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 16.1 percent year on year.
