China’s coal exports increase by 31.5 percent in January-May

In the January-May period this year, China exported 2.646 million mt of coal, increasing by 31.5 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In the same period, China imported 127.388 million mt of coal, increasing by 5.6 percent year on year. 

In May alone, China imported 27.467 million mt of coal, increasing by 22.99 percent year on year, while it exported 319,000 mt of coal, down 40.15 percent year on year.
