China’s coal and lignite imports up 26.9 percent in January-April

In the January-April period of the year, China imported 126.726 million mt of coal and lignite, up 26.9 percent year on year, 1.5 percentage points slower than the increase rate recorded in the first quarter of the year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on May 7.

In April alone, China imported 30.948 million mt of coal and lignite, up 11.2 percent month on month.
