China’s wire rod exports down 85.94 percent in Jan-Sept

According to custom statistics, China's wire rod exports in September came to 71,400 mt, down 486,800 mt or 87.2 percent year on year, totaling $43 million in value, down $521 million or 92.36 percent compared with the same month last year. The average wire rod export price was $604/mt. Total exports in January-September reached 635,100 mt, down 3.8821 million mt or 85.94 percent, amounting to $340 million in value, down $3.557 billion or 91.27 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, the country's wire rod imports in September amounted to 62,200 mt, up 19,900 mt or 47.18 percent year on year, totaling a value of $59 million, down $3 million or 4.32 percent compared with the same month last year. The average wire rod import price was $950.64/mt. Total wire rod imports in January-September reached 359,800 mt, down 43,700 mt or 10.83 percent, amounting to $366 million in value, down $136 million or 27.13 percent year on year.
