Austria-based plantmaker Siemens Metals Technologies has announced that it will supply a complete cold rolling complex for the Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Iron and Steel Group Co. The order is worth more than €100 million.

The cold rolling complex includes a coupled pickling line-tandem cold mill, a continuous annealing line and a galvanizing line. The cold strip mill is designed for an annual production of 1.6 million mt of high-strength, high-quality steels for the Chinese automotive industry, underlining Tangshan Steel's intention to further expand its market share in this segment. The first pickled and cold rolled strip is to be produced by December 2014 and commercial production will start in 2015.

The facility will produce steel strips of 0.2-2.5 mm in thickness and 700-1,600 mm in width.
