In June this year, China's producer price index (PPI) for its ferrous metal smelting and rolling sector decreased by 5.1 percent year on year, 2.9 percentage points slower than the decline of 8.0 percent recorded in May this year, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on July 9.
China's overall producer price index (PPI) edged down by 3.0 percent year on year in June, and edged up by 0.4 percent month on month. Meanwhile, in June Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 4.4 percent year on year and up 0.4 percent compared to May this year. In the first six months of the year, China's overall producer price index (PPI) edged down by 1.9 percent year on year, while Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 2.6 percent year on year.
